Lexington, Ky. – Freshman Jenny Pfeiffer was named to the Hawaii Invitational All-Tournament Team after totaling 36 points in the two-day event.
Pfeiffer, who earned a starting position five games into the season, drained a school-record tying six three-pointers in UK’s win over Long Island on Sunday. She poured in a career-high 24 points over the Blackbirds, shooting an impressive 63.6 percent from the floor, including 6-of-8 from three-point land. The North Vernon, Ind., native also scored a team-high 12 points, along with sophomore Sara Potts, in UK’s first round game against Hawaii.
Pfeiffer has scored in double figures in five of seven games, including four straight and is the Cats’ third leading scorer with 10.9 points per game.
UK fell in the first round to host Hawaii, 80-59, but bounced back to defeat Long Island, 72-64, for a third place finish. Hawaii took the championship title by defeating UNLV, 71-66, on Sunday night.
Kentucky will be back in action on Saturday, Dec. 21 when it plays host to Miami University at 1 p.m. ET in Memorial Coliseum.
