Kentucky wins its second in a row, improving to 8-3. Alcorn State is now 2-10. This was the first time the teams had played each other.

Key run: Kentucky jumped out to a 9-0 lead and led the entire game.

Kentucky shot 52.3 percent from the field, the Wildcats’ sixth game over 50 percent this season.

Kentucky limited Alcorn State to 34.4 percent from the field. It was the first time since the Gonzaga game on Nov. 27 that Kentucky had limited an opponent to less than 40 percent shooting, the third time this season.

For the second consecutive game, UK had its season high for margin of victory. The Wildcats won by 31 tonight after defeating Tennessee State by 28 on Monday.

Senior F-C Jules Camara tied his season high for blocked shots with four. In the process, he passed Nazr Mohammed for sixth place on the Kentucky career blocked shots list. Camara has swatted 137 shots in his career.

Freshman forward Kelenna Azubuike made a career-high four free throws.

Junior forward Antwain Barbour had a career-high four rebounds.

Sophomore guard Josh Carrier made two consecutive three-pointers late in the first half, quelling an Alcorn State run.

Freshman forward Bernard Cote had career highs with four points and two field goals. He also tied his personal best for rebounds with three.

Junior forward Erik Daniels had another solid all-around game tonight with 12 points, seven rebounds, three assists, two steals, and one blocked shot.

Since returning four games ago, junior guard Cliff Hawkins has 19 assists and only four turnovers in 79 minutes of action.

Sophomore forward Chuck Hayes tied for game-high honors with 15 points, just one point shy of his career high of 16 set earlier this season at North Carolina.

Freshman guard Preston LeMaster played a career-high five minutes and posted career highs with five points, two field goals, and his first three-pointer as a Wildcat.

Freshman guard Ravi Moss canned six free throws, his first points as a Wildcat.

Kentucky concludes its stretch of four games in eight days on Sat. Jan. 4 when the Wildcats play their annual game in Cincinnati. UK takes on Ohio at 4 p.m. in U.S. Bank Arena. The game will be televised live on the UKTV Network.
