CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The No. 21 University of Kentucky men’s golf team shot a day two team 299 to remain in third place after two rounds of play at the Franklin Street Partners Invitational in Chapel Hill, N.C. North Carolina leads No. 6 Georgia Southern by one stroke for the lead, followed by the Cats who sit five strokes back.

Sophomore Matt Kohn shot the lowest round of the day for UK with a second round 71, followed by junior All-American John Holmes’ 74. Holmes has posted the second lowest total score of the tournament, 142, while junior Mark Blakefield (147) and Kohn (147) join him in the top-10 tied with Derek Brown of UNC Wilmington for ninth.
