The Kentucky women?s golf team carded a 315 on day two of the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic in Athens, Ga. The Cats are still in 18th place with a team score of 637 after 36 holes at the University of Georgia Golf Course.
Senior Eva Gessner bettered her first round score by one shot, shooting a 78 on Saturday to lead Kentucky. Gessner, who is currently in a tie for 68th, is two shots ahead of UK?s Erin Faulkner. Faulkner also fired a 78 Saturday, but is in a tie for 77th after her first round score of 81 Friday. Ali Kicklighter fell to a tie for 84th with her second-round score of 82.
Ohio State is atop the leaderboard for the second consecutive day with a team score of 574. OSU?s Lindsay Knowlton and Duke?s Brittany Lang are both tied for first with two-round totals of 139.
The third and final round of the tournament will begin with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. Sunday. Results will be available at www.ukathletics.com.
