The 16th-ranked Kentucky men won the doubles point and dominated singles play, running away with a 6-1 victory over No. 51 Alabama Sunday in Tuscaloosa, Ala. The Cats improve to 12-5 and 4-2 in the SEC, while the Tide drops to 6-9 and 1-5.

The Cats scored 8-6 victories at the one and three doubles slots to claim the doubles point. Junior Tigran Martirosyan scored his eighth-consecutive victory, defeating Alabama?s Chris Gostek in three sets. Junior Jesse Witten returned to his winning ways after his 11-match unbeaten streak came to an end Friday, turning in a 6-4, 6-4 win over the Tide?s 55th-ranked Stephen Mitchell. Senior Rahim Esmail and freshman Jason Mallaiah added straight-set wins for Kentucky.

The win marks the 399th in 22 seasons at Kentucky for UK Coach Dennis Emery, who could pick up his 400th Kentucky win this Wednesday in Lexington against Wright State.
