Lexington, (Ky.) ? The Kentucky baseball team will look to snap a season-long five-game losing streak on Wednesday when it plays host to the Eastern Kentucky University Colonels at Cliff Hagan Stadium. The game, originally scheduled to be played at Applebee?s Park, was moved to Kentucky?s home field and is slated to start at 4 p.m. (ET).
The Wildcats were swept this past weekend by Florida. The Gators defeated UK, 8-4, on Friday and finished the series with wins of 17-6 on Saturday and 8-1 on Sunday. UK (14-10, 2-4 SEC) has not won since it took two of three in a series at Auburn two weeks ago.
Eastern Kentucky comes to Lexington with its best start in school history. The Colonels (17-3, 2-1 OVC) took two of three from Tennessee Tech over the weekend, to open Ohio Valley Conference play. EKU has an impressive .400 team batting average, led by Chris O?Dell?s .509 mark.
Kentucky defeated EKU, 18-8, last season and 13-4 in 2002. The Wildcats have won five in a row in the series and hold a 63-24-1 advantage over Eastern, all-time.
