Four UK Soccer Players Named All-Region

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Four Kentucky Wildcats were named All-Southeast Region by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America, on Tuesday.
For the second year in a row Napo Matsoso and Jordan Wilson were named First Team All-Southeast Region.
Stuart Ford and Alex Bumpus were named to the third team. Both earned All-Southeast Region for the first time.
Matsoso started in all 19 of Kentucky’s matches, leading the Wildcats with 20 points on eight goals, three of which were game-winners, and four assists. All of Matsoso’s scores came in multi-goal game performances.
Wilson anchored a Wildcat back line that boasted a shutout percentage of 0.47 (22nd NCAA) and a team goals-against average of 0.80 (24th NCAA). The defender also contributed on offense, netting two of his three goals in game-winning fashion against Charlotte and Old Dominion and adding an assist on the season.
Ford had a strong first season as Kentucky’s starter in goal playing a key role in Kentucky’s top-25 shutout percentage and GAA average defense. Bumpus blossomed in his first full season as a center back, as he was an integral part of Kentucky’s elite defense.
Matsoso and Wilson were First Team All-Conference USA and Bumpus was Third Team All-C-USA.
Kentucky made its third consecutive NCAA appearance and fourth in the past five seasons.
