Six University of Kentucky track and field athletes have earned CoSIDA Academic All-District IV honors for the Track & Field and Cross Country teams. Benjamin Brewster and Thomas Morgan earned first-team honors for the men, while Beth Heimann and Olubusola Adeagbo represented UK on the women?s first-team.
Brewster, 4.00 senior biology major, hails from Findlay, Ohio, while Morgan, a 3.67 graduate with a degree in finance, hails from Lexington, Ky. Morgan, the 2003 SEC Cross Country champion, is currently pursuing his MBA at Kentucky.
Heimann is a senior majoring in elementary education at UK. She holds a 3.714 GPA and hails from Germantown, Ill. Adeagbo, one of three siblings to run track at UK, holds a 3.902 GPA as a senior majoring in elementary education.
Kentucky also landed a student-athlete on the second team of each list. David Freeman, a senior management major, represented the men with a 3.23 GPA. For the women, Brooke Patterson earned recognition as a senior majoring in kinesiology with a 3.471 GPA.
Heimann and Patterson are still competing this season for UK as both have qualified for next week?s NCAA Championships in Austin, Texas. Both women will compete in the 800 meters for UK.
