Sophomore wide receiver/kick returner Keenan Burton and junior cornerback Warren Wilson had surgery on Thursday, Coach Rich Brooks has announced.

Burton had surgery to repair a fractured bone in his wrist and will be out for the season. He will be able to apply for a medical hardship. If granted, which is probable, he will retain three years of eligibility.

Wilson had arthroscopic knee surgery and is expected to miss two to three weeks. Junior Antoine Huffman will start in Wilson?s place, Brooks said. Because of multiple injuries to the cornerback positions, Brooks noted that freshman cornerback Jarrell Williams probably will have to play this season instead of taking a redshirt. If he plays, Williams will become the 10th true freshman to play out of the class of 17 true freshmen who reported in August.
