Kentucky junior Alex Hume advanced to the round of 32 at the ITA All-American Pre-Qualies event in Chattanooga, Tenn., Saturday afternoon by way of a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Shunsuke Shimuzu of Tennessee Tech. Hume is slated to meet Tulane?s Jacobo Hernandez in Sunday?s round of 32.

Hume and senior Matt Emery advanced in the doubles bracket with an 8-6 victory over Bradley?s Wil Lofgren and Marijan Panzic.

Hume and Emery continue their run Sunday against Florida?s Marty Stiegwardt and Stefan Tell.
