Kentucky redshirt freshman Marcus Sundh will play for the ?B? singles flight title Sunday at the Louisville Fall Invitational after turning in a pair of victories Saturday afternoon at U of L?s Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.
Sundh, a Stockholdm, Sweden native, defeated Ball State?s Jimmy Brannon via walkover before setting aside Ball State?s Mike Heule by a 6-2, 6-0 count. Sundh will battle Illinois? Andrew Eklov for the flight title on Sunday. UK senior Matt Emery fell short in his bid for a flight title, dropping a 3-6, 6-2, 6-2 decision to Louisville?s Nicolas Houard.
Senior Tigran Martirosyan won his quarterfinal match in the ITA All-American Championshiops consolation round before suffering a straight-set defeat in the semifinals. Martirosyan defeated UCLA?s Kris Kwinta, 6-3, 6-1, but was eliminated by Washington?s Alex Slovic by a 7-5, 6-1 count in the semifinal.
