LEXINGTON ? The Kentucky men?s soccer wraps up the regular season Saturday at 7 p.m. when it faces 17th-ranked UAB in Birmingham, Ala.
The Wildcats enter the contest off a solid 2-0 victory over a red-hot Cincinnati team. Kentucky (10-4-3) has been winning with defense and has not allowed more than one goal in 15 straight games.
?It?s a big game. It?s not just a regular game,? said Kentucky coach Ian Collins. ?It?s important that we maintain our focus and we keep plugging away. We are starting to do some things better than we have before. But it?s going to be a difficult test.?
Meanwhile, the Blazers have been on a roll winning eight of their last 10. UAB (9-5) is even tougher at home, going 7-0 this year.
?They are great at home, they?re undefeated there. So, that presents a challenge in itself,? said Collins. ?Secondly, they are as good as anyone we?ve played offensively. They?ve got a lot on the line.?
Kentucky is 0-3-2 this year against ranked teams. It is the first meeting between the two schools.
