LEXINGTON, Ky. ? The University of Kentucky?s men?s golf program has signed Dan Woltman, one of Wisconsin?s top high school golfers, UK head coach Brian Craig announced Friday. Woltman, the Wisconsin state high school runner-up in 2003 and 2004, signed a letter of intent to join the Wildcats? program next season. Woltman, a Beaver Dam, Wisc., native, attends Watertown Luther Prep.

?Dan proved this past summer that he is one of the best junior golfers in the entire nation and I am thrilled that he will be joining our program next year,? said Craig. ?I absolutely love Dan?s game. He is very polished and has the skills to step right in and compete at the highest level of Division I golf.?

In addition to Wisconsin state runner-up titles, Woltman was named Wisconsin Junior Player of the Year in 2003, and also qualified for the U.S. Junior Amateur in 2003 and 2004. In 2004, Woltman claimed the Westfield Junior PGA National Champion title and was named AJGA Rolex Junior All-American in 2004. Woltman also qualified for the U.S. Amateur in 2004.

?The combination of Dan?s character, passion and experience will make him a tremendous asset to the Wildcat family and I look forward to him helping us achieve our goals of winning the SEC and NCAA Championships,? said Craig.

The men?s golf signing period ends Wednesday, Nov. 17.
