Meet the Wildcats: Aubree Rosa

LEXINGTON, Ky. – In preparation for the upcoming season, UKathletics.com presents “Meet the Wildcats,” an opportunity for you to get to know a little more about the 2017 Kentucky Gymnastics team. Today’s Meet the Wildcats features sophomore Aubree Rosa.

Aubree Rosa, a freshman from Covina, Ca., enters 2016 after finishing in first-place on balance beam, uneven bars, and all-around at the Gliders Invite and wins in the all-around and on floor at the Lady Luck Invitational in 2014. She competed at J.O. Nationals in 2014 and 2013, along with the Region 1 Championships in 2014, 2013, and 2012. A graduate of Charter Oak High School, Rosa claimed a state title on floor, a runner-up finish in the all-around, and a third-place finish on beam in 2012.

What I like the most about Coach Garrison and the staff … They continue to help me become the best athlete that I can be.

My goals this season are … To do what I know how to do and not let the competition setting mess with my head. For the team, I want to make every routine count and not give away mistakes because I know our team has very high potential.

I chose UK because …  In my heart it was where I felt I needed to go.

I want to improve my … Everything! I can always improve something. 

I try to model my competition style after… Aly Raisman because she always looks confident and seems to enjoy what she does. 

My most memorable moment as a gymnast was … Signing my National Letter of Intent. 

My favorite band/musical artist …  5sos and the Chainsmokers

My pre-meet superstition is … I always watch “Stick It” and “Facing the Giants”.

If I had a derby horse I would name it … Lightning McQueen

My favorite book is …. The Fault In Our Stars

My favorite movie is … Hunger Games

The most famous person I have ever met was …  Aly Raisman

Favorite Pro team … San Diego Chargers or LA Angels

The Wildcats kick off the 2017 season at Eastern Michigan on Friday, Jan. 6 at 7 p.m. at Eastern Michigan.
