CHAPEL HILL, N.C. ? The University of Kentucky swimming and diving teams completed their second day at the Nike Cup Swimming & Diving Championships hosted by the University of North Carolina. Both the UK men?s and women?s teams currently are in fourth place at the three-day event.
On the men?s side, senior Daniel Farnham won the men?s 200-yard freestyle, while sophomore Kristian Outlien won the men?s 100-yard breaststroke. On the women?s side, senior Shantel Commander captured the 400-yard IM, while sophomores Heather and Jenny Bradford finished third and fourth, respectively in the 100-yard butterfly. Commander also took third in the women?s 100-yard breaststroke. Senior Brennan Moore finished third in the women?s 400-yard IM.
The UK women won the 200-yard medley relay as one of four events the Wildcats captured on the day, while the men placed second in the event. Both the men?s and women?s squads placed third in the 800-yard freestyle relay.
