– Happy Sunday from LAX! We have about 30 minutes before we have to board the plane to Cincy. As you all know?we won the championship game yesterday!! YAY! It was a really good road win for our team. I think the tourney helped us grow as a team. Hopefully, the past two games will help us prepare for SEC play, I think we all are going to miss sunny California and the beautiful beaches. Now back to the winter weather in Lexington. Overall, California kicked butt!! I had an awesome time. Last night, we all were able to go to the Santa Monica Mall. Several of us went to Santa Monica Pier. We ate at a Mexican restaurant right at the end of the pier. The ocean was really moving last night. The tide was coming in and the winds were crazy. It made for a cold but lovely walk down the pier.

Well, this is short but it is almost time to board the big scary plane. I need to take my Dramamine!!. Pray for me and a safe return home. I will see you all on Thursday night!! WAHOO!

Bye Cali, hello Lex!

– Greetings again from sunny California! Today has been a long day. We were able to sleep in until 8 a.m. this morning. We woke up and had film session on Indiana State. After film we had a great breakfast full of waffles, eggs, and ham and cheese sandwiches. Moe (my roommate for the trip) and I watched part of ?You Got Served? on TV before the game today. So that was fun down time! We traveled up the beautiful coast to Pepperdine to get to our 1 p.m. PT game. Yes, we won!!! We beat the Sycamores. It was a good road win for us. I think we all came together and won a hard fought game. After the game we were able to see the sunset over the Pacific Ocean on the drive back to our hotel in Marina Del Ray. The sunset was beautiful. The sunset was a first for me. Now, on to the best part of the day..FOOD!!! We walked down a block from the hotel and ended up at this amazing seafood restaurant. Let me just say that the steak I ate was quite possibly the best steak I have ever tasted. It was so good when it hit the lips.

So, to pass sometime in the airports, airplanes, and bus rides, Carly and I have decided to ?Punk? people just like Ashton Kutncher on ?Punked.? We are sitting here trying to think of different ideas to punk people with. We have failed one mission with Jenn?e and vinegar in her drink. We tried to punk Sarah as well. We told her that her dirty laundry got on my clean clothes (lame I know) but, we were wanting to punk people really bad! If anyone has ideas let us know somehow.

It is about that time to sign off and get some rest before the championship game. We play at 1 p.m. tomorrow so I expect everyone to listen! Hope everyone is doing well back at home and everywhere else. SEE YA SOON!!!

Love,

– HAPPY THANKSGIVING everyone!!! We have had an awesome time out in Los Angeles so far. I survived the plane ride yesterday, so that is always a good thing. For everyone who does not know..I HATE TO FLY. The flight was long. There is nothing that some Dave Matthews and Dramamine can?t fix. I jammed to DMB and was not motion sick! So, I am thankful for a safe trip to California. We left yesterday morning to a covered ground of snow in Cincy. We arrived in LAX after a 4 and a half hour flight and 70 degree weather. This was a great change from the snow and below 30 degree weather in Lexington.

The best part about yesterday was our tour of L.A. We arrived on Rodeo Drive in style. Style meaning a stretch Hummer!!! Rodeo Drive literally left me speechless. We all had a great time. We were all excited to see all of the crazy sights of L.A. Several of my teammates took pictures with multiple street characters outside of the Chinese Theater. It was so exciting to see a lot of Los Angeles last night. Almost everyone has not been able to visit L.A. before, so the tour was a nice surprise.

Today, we woke up and had a YUMMY breakfast in the hotel. We left for practice at Pepperdine. As we drove out to the gym we were able to see miles and miles of the Pacific Ocean. It was so beautiful. It was especially beautiful to me because I have only seen the ocean about three times in my entire twenty-one years of existence. We had a great practice and returned to the hotel for some more game preparations. A quick rest served us well as we were off to VENICE BEACH ya?ll!! Yes, the ocean was a little on the chilly side. HOWEVER, the beach rocked my world today. You could say I got ?my feet wet? today. All of us explored the beach and the crazy activities that go on there. There was so much going on that Carly, Moe, and I took a wrong turn to get back to the bus. But, luckily they didn?t forget us so we made it back safely to the hotel.

Now, comes the best part of the day, especially THANKSGIVING DAY, FOOD! We loaded up and headed somewhere for a few miles and ended up at Lucille?s. Lucille?s is this awesome BBQ place somewhere outside of L.A. The trip to Lucille?s seemed really really long. I don?t know if it was because we were all starving or that we really drove a long time. But, I seriously thought we were going back to Lexington for this food. Either way, the drive was well worth it. The food there was amazing. We were able to order a classic Thanksgiving meal with turkey, rolls, mashed potatoes and gravy, apples, stuffing, and green bean casserole. Uh..YUM! That is all I have to say.

Well, It is about that time to go back to the room and relax. I miss you all back in KY and everywhere else. I hope today was full of family, friends, food, and thanks and great for everyone and I will see you soon! I will come back for an update on the game tomorrow. But, until then I hope you all had a wonderful turkey day. Listen to our game tomorrow. We will hear you all cheering all the way from Lexington or anywhere else in the world?PROMISE!!!

Signing off for now from Malibu

– Hey Everyone! Hooray! We won the tournament! Pretty exciting! We played a tough game against Hofstra and came out with the win. After the game, we traveled to Santa Monica Pier. We shopped for hours, and had a nice little dinner at the end of the pier at a Mexican restaurant. We even got serenaded by three cute little Mexican men. It was a fun way to end the trip eating dinner overlooking the Pacific. Now, I?m sitting here in the airport on the busiest travel day of the year. I?m not going to lie, it?s pretty hectic here. And it?s our last thirty minutes to soak in California! It sure was an awesome trip and I had a blast. But, I think I?m ready to head back home to good ole Lexington. I think my beautiful dorm room is calling my name, I missed it so much! Just kidding!

Welp, sorry this is short but I have to calm down Pfeiffer before she gets on the plane?she FREAKS out about flying! Hope everyone had an awesome Thanksgiving break! See you all at the game on Thursday! It will be nice to have our fans again! Love you all,

– Hey guys! Well, it has been a long day and I?m really tired right now. I once again woke up around 7 a.m. because for some odd reason I think my body is incapable of getting on California time. Oh well. I watched a little ?Home Improvement? so it wasn?t too bad. We then had film and scouted all the ins and outs of Indiana State. After film came an amazing breakfast and then off to our game! I think we were all really ready to play and couldn?t wait to step out on the court. Our game wasn?t too pretty, but we came out with a win so that?s all that matters. Hooray! Indiana State was a very good team and it was nice to pull out a victory. Tomorrow we play Hofstra who beat Pepperdine in the game after us today.

After the game, we traveled back on bus to our hotel. The drive from the gym to the hotel is beautiful as it is along the beach! Stumbo even spotted a dolphin in the ocean today. It?s cool to see all the surfers in the ocean as well. I?ve always dreamed of learning to surf?maybe one day.

We made it back to the hotel and then walked across the street for dinner. I had a delicious meal that consisted of steak, mashed potatoes, and cheesecake for dessert! I love cheesecake! After dinner I talked to some of my high school friends? just want them to know that I miss them like crazy!

But, now I am pooped and ready for bed. I can?t wait to play Hofstra tomorrow. I hope things go as they did today, but I don?t want to jinx us?knock on wood.

Welp, see ya later! I hope everyone had a good day! Think about us tomorrow as we play!

– Hello from Malibu! Yesterday we went through quite a change. At the beginning of the day we were singing Christmas music on the bus ride to the airport as we were all in the holiday spirit. Nothing could have been more perfect than when we were riding along and it began to snow. It was a beautiful sight to all, but even more special to Moe because it was her first snow sighting! We soon made it to the airport and boarded the plane. After about five hours of listening to Jack Johnson, watching Anchorman, and daydreaming of the beach, we finally arrived in California! I have never been to this part of California, so was very impressed by the view as we traveled to our hotel from the airport. Soon after we got to our hotel, roommates were assigned. Afton and I are roomies!

Next event on the agenda was to tour the city of Los Angeles. And trust me, we toured in STYLE! We walked out of our hotel expecting to see a bus, but to our surprise a Hummer Limo was waiting for us. Excited we all were as we piled into our awesome ride. Rodeo Drive, Sunset Blvd, and the Chinese Theater were some of the parts of LA that we all got to see. It was an amazing experience and something that I will never forget.

Thanksgiving then rolled around and since our families could not be with us, who better to spend the holiday with then my team? I woke up around 7 a.m. because it is taking me awhile to get on California?s clock, being that it is three hours behind Kentucky time. But, waking this early gave me a chance to watch a little television and one of my all-time favorite movies was on, Meet the Parents. What a classic! Afton and I watched the movie and then went to breakfast. After eating, we were off to practice at Pepperdine. I was speechless when I saw the campus of Pepperdine?it is beautiful.

Practice went well and after we finally got to go to Venice Beach! Hooray! I absolutely love the beach and had so much fun putting my feet in the Pacific Ocean. Although we were not there too long, I had a blast. We then went to a restaurant called Lucille?s for dinner. I ordered turkey because it just wouldn?t seem right if I had anything else, be that it is Turkey Day! The meal was very delicious and at the same time very filling. We arrived back at the hotel and currently as I am writing this we are in study hall. It?s pretty hardcore that they make us study on Thanksgiving Day!

I?ve had a blast so far, but now all I can think about is Indiana State. I?m so pumped to play tomorrow! Anyways, Thanksgiving wishes to all of you! This day always makes me realize how lucky I am and how much I am thankful for?including a few things such as my family, friends, teammates, having the opportunity to be a part of this program, food, and of course Will Ferrell because he makes me laugh. But now it?s time for bed!

Again, Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!
