Mollie Korth Wins SEC Freshman of the Week

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Following a record-setting performance against Florida
last Friday, the Southeastern Conference office announced Tuesday that Kentucky
freshman Mollie Korth has been named SEC Freshman of the Week.

Korth took a share of the all-around crown with a score of 39.575, helping
the squad score a 196.950, its highest scoring mark in school history.
Individually, her score was the sixth highest in Kentucky history. The
impressive 39.575 was the best all-around score from any Wildcat other than
three-time NCAA National Champion Jenny Hansen who holds the top five scores.

The Cambridge, Wisconsin native won a share of the individual floor
championship with a score of 9.925, sharing the crown with teammate sophomore
Sidney Dukes and Florida’s Kennedy Baker. Korth was great on bars as well,
posting a career best 9.900 on bars and a pair of 9.875 scores on beam and
vault.

Korth has competed in two meets for the Wildcats in her career, and won
the all-around trophy in both events. To start the season, she scored a 39.075
at Eastern Michigan.

Kentucky will be back in action for its first home meet of the year,
hosting Auburn on Friday, Jan. 20 at 7 p.m. The meet is the annual Excite
Night, and Pentatonix star Kirstin Maldonado will be in attendance.
