Women's Basketball

The Victory Club, Kentucky women?s basketball?s booster club, held its annual post-season ?Hoopla? event Wednesday, April 19 in the President?s Room in Commonwealth Stadium.

The event, held each April, provides an informal mixing of players, parents, coaches, managers, support staff and athletics personnel with Victory Club members to celebrate the season?s achievements. This year?s event was highlighted by a generous $20,000 gift presented by VC President Tina Carpenter to UK Coach Mickie DeMoss and the women?s basketball program.

?Wow!? DeMoss said. ?This gift is amazing. We will put this money in the basketball budget and it will be put to good use. We are so thankful for everything the Victory Club does for us.?

Lexington Mayor Teresa Isaac also honored Coach DeMoss with a commemorative Proclamation and a Distinguished Citizen Award. Stephanie Stumbo was honored with the inaugural ?Stephanie Stumbo Award? an award that will be given to the player who makes outstanding and unselfish contributions to the Kentucky women?s basketball program.

The Victory Club, which has grown to 350 members since its inception in 1995, was established to promote, encourage and maintain fan support through the cooperation and enjoyment of its members.
