LEXINGTON, Ky.?After a dreadful day of gusty winds, rain and blistery weather Louisville is atop the leaderboard through 36 holes at the Wildcat Fall Invitational being played at the University Club?s Big Blue Course.

The Cardinals scored a 630 (320-310) on the opening day of play to take a one-stroke lead over North Carolina State and Memphis. Six other teams are within six shots of the lead. Kentucky is in a tie for 11th place with a score of 655 (329-326).

Mississippi State?s Amanda Mathis leads the individual leaderboard with a four-over-par 148. Mathis placed second in the 2005 event.

For Kentucky, freshman Erica Still is in a tie for 12th place after shooting a 13-over-par 157. Junior Beth Felts holds a tie for 34th with an 18-over-par. Seniors Katie Johnson and Marissa Muir are tied for 53rd and 62nd respectively.

Weather was a factor for all players as rain and wind was in the forecast for the entire two rounds. Temperatures were in the mid-50s.
