Women's Golf

LEXINGTON, Ky. ? The University of Kentucky women?s golf team will return to action Oct. 30-31, in the Ross Resorts Invitational hosted by Rollins College. Kentucky will make its first appearance in almost a month in the tournament that features teams from all three NCAA divisions.

The 13-team field will play at Mid Pines Inn and Golf Club in Southern Pines, N.C. Teams participating in the event are: Cincinnati, Harvard, James Madison, Kentucky, Longwood, Methodist, Middle Tennessee State, Princeton, Richmond, Rollins, William and Mary, Xavier and Yale.

The teams will play 36 holes on Monday, followed by a final 18 holes on Tuesday.

Kentucky was last in action in their own home event the Wildcat Fall Invitational, Sept. 30-Oct. 1. Freshman Erica Still paced the Cats for the second tournament of the season. Still fired a +21 over par good for a 16th-place tie in the tournament. Seniors Katie Johnson and Marissa Muir played their final events in Lexington, placing 66th and 67th respectively.

Junior Elizabeth Dotson is set to make her 2006-07 debut at the Ross Resorts Invitational. Dotson, who has been sidelined with a knee injury, is expected to make an immediate-positive impact for UK. In her sophomore campaign, she finished with the team?s second-highest per-stroke average for the second consecutive season, shooting an average of 77.48.

The Ross Resorts Invitational is being played at the par-71, 5,985-yard Pine Needles course. Complete results and a recap of the two-day event will be available at ukathletics.com.
