LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) – Jennifer Humphrey scored 15 points, and Samantha Mahoney added 11 more as No. 15 Kentucky opened its season with a 80-51 win Friday night against Washington State.

The Wildcats advance to play Indiana on Sunday in the final of the four-team Women’s Sports Foundation Tournament. The Hoosiers defeated Wake Forest 75-53 in the other semifinal.

Kentucky’s pressure forced the Cougars into 22 turnovers, which the Wildcats converted into 34 points.

The Wildcats jumped out to an early 6-0 lead in the first half. After taking a 37-19 lead at halftime, Kentucky scored the first 14 points of the second half for a game-high 53-19 lead. All 12 Kentucky players scored.

Kentucky senior forward Humphrey paced the team in the first half, draining all four of her shot attempts and adding a free throw to lead the team with 9 points at the break.

Freshmen Lydia Watkins and Brittany Edelen each added eight points for Kentucky, and sophomore guard Moe Gamble scored seven.

Nakejia Kelly and Adriane Ferguson each scored 12 points to lead Washington State, which lost its season opener for the first time in four years.

Kentucky now has won nine consecutive season-openers.
