LEXINGTON, KY ? While the 2006 soccer season is just a memory, the awards continue to roll in for the Kentucky women?s soccer team.

Senior Anne Ogundele continued to add to her plethora of awards being named a NSCAA 1st Team Academic All-American. The Mississauga, Ontario native who was also selected a NSCAA 3rd Team All-American, was also a District IV ESPN The Magazine second team academic all-district selection, posting a 3.61 GPA while majoring in Physical Therapy.

She closed out her career with a school record 14 shutouts in her senior campaign which also tied the SEC record for clean sheets in a season. She also finished her career with a school record 1.02 GAA and finished second in career saves (242), minutes played (5,630:53) and shutouts (20).

Her efforts on the season earned her first team All-Great Lakes honors as well as first team All-SEC honors and two SEC Defensive Player of the Week awards.

Ogundele is the third Wildcat to receive academic All-America honors. Allison Peppers was named a NSCAA first-team academic All-America in 1999 while Jen Wilkinson was a CoSIDA third-team academic All-American in 2003.

Freshman Giuleana Lopez was named a Soccer America 2nd Team Freshman All-American. She was one of only two freshmen from the SEC (Lauren Hyde, Florida) to be recognized by Soccer America.

Lopez finished the season as the team leader in points (25) and goals scored (10) and was also named a second team All-SEC performer as well as being named to the Freshman All-SEC team.

She joins Liz Butler (Soccer Buzz Freshman All-America, 2002) as the only other freshman All-American in Wildcat history.
