LEXINGTON, Ky. ? For her efforts at the Baja Invitational junior Beth Felts is this week?s women?s golfer of the week for the period Feb. 5-12, as named by the coaching staff.

Felts led the team in scoring with a 12th-place finish, the best showing of any Wildcat this year. Felts has now led the team in scoring in three tournaments this season. She carded a two-round total of 153 (+9), with a low round of 76 to open the tournament.

“Beth looks consistent and solid. If a few more putts had dropped for her this week, she would have been under par,? said Barker.

Kentucky began its spring season at the Baja Invitational placing 15th. The team traveled to Ensenada, Mexico, for the opening tournament of the 2007 campaign.

The Lady Cats return to action in the ACC/SEC Chrysler Challenge beginning Feb. 24, in Destin, Fla., hosted by Florida State.
