LEXINGTON, Ky.? The 33rd-ranked University of Kentucky men?s tennis team will host No. 73 Furman and Eastern Kentucky in a Monday doubleheader at the Hilary J. Boone Tennis Complex.

UK (5-3, 0-0) is in the middle of a seven match home stand and holds a 4-1 record in their familiar confines of the tennis complex. Kentucky has also notched a three-match win streak, which included its first win over a ranked opponent when they defeated No. 63 Indiana 5-2, on Thursday night.

In the match against the Hoosiers, Kentucky continued to get stellar play from its No. 2 doubles tandem of senior Peter Bjork and junior Will Ward. The duo has yet to yield a match, going a perfect 5-0 thus far. Bjork and Ward?s win at No. 2 doubles secured the doubles point for the Wildcats, after the teams spit at No. 1 and No. 3.

Bjork would then seal the match for the Blue and White with a win at No. 3 singles. Kentucky also got wins from sophomore Bruno Agostinelli at the top spot, junior Marcus Sundh at No. 4 and sophomore Kenny Hodge rounding out the lineup.

Agostinelli, Bjork and Sundh all are currently riding a 3-0 singles win streak. Sundh leads the team with an overall dual match record of 7-1. Agostinelli is UK?s highest rated player currently ranked at No. 73.

The matches against Furman and Eastern Kentucky will be the final tune-ups for the Wildcats as they begin Southeastern Conference action on Friday.

First serve against No. 73 Furman is slated for 1 p.m., with the match against Eastern Kentucky set to begin at 6 p.m. EST.
