Women's Golf

LEXINGTON, Ky.?Freshman Erica Still has been named the University of Kentucky women?s golfer of the week as announced by the coaching staff.

Still capped off her phenomenal freshman regular season with a three-over-par final round at the Indiana Invitational to lead the Wildcats to a 13th place finish.

For the fifth consecutive tournament and the seventh of the season the rookie from Waycross, Ga., paced the Wildcats with a tie for 16th place. Still turned in a remarkable three-over-par in the day?s final round to move her way up the leader board, as she began the day in a tie for 30th place. She has now carded five straight final rounds of 76 or lower. The Wildcats? lone freshman placed in the top-20 in four tournaments this season.

?She’s consistent and keeps putting herself in contention for top-10 and top-20 finishes,? said Head Coach Stephanie Barker.

Kentucky returns to action April 20-21, in the 2007 SEC Championships hosted by Mississippi State. Last season UK placed 11th in the tournament and are aiming to improve on that finish.
