Three linemen from the University of Kentucky football team, offensive tackle Michael Aitcheson, long snapper Jason Dickerson, and center Matt McCutchan, have accepted offers to attend rookie camps with National Football League teams.

Aitcheson (Miami, Fla.) will go into camp with the Washington Redskins. He was a second-team All-Southeastern Conference selection as a senior and his teammates voted him as UK?s Most Inspirational Player for the 2006 season. He was a two-year member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll and was named to the UK Athletics Society of Character. A licensed minister who has completed his degree in social work, Aitcheson plans to enter the seminary following his football career.

Dickerson (Elizabethtown, Ky.) accepted an offer to attend the Detroit Lions camp. He came to UK as a walk-on, earning both a starting job and a scholarship as he did an outstanding job as UK?s long snapper for punts, field goals, and extra points the last three and one-half seasons. The coaches named him UK?s Special Teams Player of the Year for the 2006 season. He has been a member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll and has completed his degree in biology.

McCutchan (Lebanon, Ohio), who will be in the Kansas City Chiefs camp, was a three-year starting center for the Wildcats. He was chosen the team?s Most Outstanding Offensive Lineman during his junior season. He was named SEC Offensive Lineman of the Week twice during his career, vs. Indiana in 2004 and Louisiana-Monroe in 2006. He has been a member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll and has graduated from UK with a degree in economics.

Aitcheson, Dickerson, and McCutchan helped lead Kentucky to an 8-5 record during their senior season, including a win over Clemson in the Gaylord Hotels Music City Bowl. It was Kentucky?s best record and first bowl win in 22 years.
