NASHVILLE, Tenn.?The University of Kentucky women?s golf team remained steady during Saturday?s second round, but watched some of the nation?s top teams turn in incredible performances at the Mason Rudolph Invitational. Kentucky stands in 12th place through 36 holes after shooting a 306 in the second round.
UCLA shot a tournament record for two-rounds firing a 283, good for 12-under-par as a team. The Bruins enjoy a nine-shot advantage over Arizona State. Kentucky is just one shot off of Stanford who sits in 11th at 19-over-par. UK remains ahead of three Southeastern Conference foes, including host Vanderbilt heading into final round action.
Sophomore Erica Still enjoyed the best round of the day for the Blue and White, firing a one-over (73), to even her score. Still moved into a tie for 15th place overall in the individual standings.
Junior Mallory Blackwelder registered a two-over (74), keeping her score at one-under and in a tie for ninth place.
Other scorers for the Wildcats include senior Elizabeth Dotson and freshman Louise Ljungstedt who both sit in a tie for 70th place with two round scores at 11-over-par. Sophomore Kristin Vincent is in the clubhouse in a tie for 87th after two rounds.
