The University of Kentucky softball team will host its annual day camp beginning Monday, June 16th. The camp concludes on June 19th.
If you are attending softball camp at UK please read the following information:
Welcome to the University of Kentucky 2008 Day Camp!! We thank you for your support of the UK softball program; and are excited that you are joining us. Provided is additional information that you will need to know, along with a list of things that you should bring each day.
For all Campers Check-in will be Monday, June 16th starting at 8:00 am. Camp will begin promptly at 9:00 am each day for both Junior and full day Campers. Junior Campers will be released for pick-up at 12:00 pm from the Softball Field. At that time, full day Campers will have lunch in Commonwealth Stadium. Full day Campers will be released at 3:30 pm each day. Camp will be held at the University of Kentucky’s Softball field located at the Soccer/Softball Complex which is East of Commonwealth Football Stadium. If at any time during camp, you have a question please talk directly to the camp director, Coach Kristine Himes.
What to bring:
Glove
Hat/Visor
Sunblock
Cleats/Spikes
Tennis Shoes
Sweatpants/Ball pants – for sliding
Extra change of clothes for after sliding
Bat (if you have it)
Batting Gloves (if you have them)
Helmet (if you have it)
Catchers?full equipment (if you have it)
**Please make sure everything is clearly labeled!
Also remember in order to participate in camp, the University of Kentucky requires:
A signed parental consent statement
Proof of a physical, dated within one year of camp – Physician?s statement is acceptable in lieu of a physical
Copy of the front and back of camper?s health insurance card
If you have not sent this information already, please DO NOT, please bring it with you on Monday, June 16th and present it at check-in.
**No camper will be permitted to participate until ALL required medical information is received.
There will be first aid and CPR certified trainers on site at all times. Water coolers will always be full; and Gatorade will also be available.
And for all you die hard softball fans, please feel free to stay, watch, and learn throughout the camp.
There will also be a Camp Store available to purchase exclusive UK Softball gear! We will only be able to accept cash or check. Please make sure if campers are given money that it’s put in a safe place.

From Bluegrass Parkway
When the Parkway ends, exit right and the road turns into US-60 East (Versailles Road). Follow US-60 East approximately 10 miles into Lexington and turn right onto Mason Headley Road. Follow Mason Headley 1.5 miles until the lighted intersection at Harrodsburg Road (Broadway). Go straight through the intersection as Mason Headley becomes Waller Avenue. Continue traveling Waller for a mile until the lighted intersection at Nicholasville Road. Go straight through the intersection as Waller Avenue becomes Cooper Drive. Continue on Cooper through the first light at University Drive and turn right at the next light (Sportscenter Dr.). At the stop sign turn left onto College Way then finally turn left onto Wildcat Court into the Soccer/Softball Complex.
From the North and West
Follow I-64 East/I-75 South to exit 115 (marked Lexington/Airport). Merge onto Newtown Pike. Follow Newtown Pike towards downtown for approximately 3 miles. Turn left onto Main Street. Follow Main Street for 0.4 miles as it turns into Vine Street. Follow Vine for 0.3 miles and turn right at Upper Street. Continue on Upper St. for 0.7 miles as it turns into Limestone. Continue on Limestone for 0.8 miles until the lighted intersection at Cooper Drive. Turn left onto Cooper Drive passing through the light at University Drive and turn right at the next light (Sportscenter Dr.). At the stop sign turn left onto College Way then finally turn left onto Wildcat Court into the Soccer/Softball Complex.
From the East
Follow I-64 West to exit 113 (US-27/US-68 toward Lexington/Paris). Turn right onto Broadway (US-27 S/US-68 W). Follow Broadway towards downtown for approximately 3 miles. Turn left onto Vine Street. Follow Vine for 0.2 miles and turn right at Upper Street. Continue on Upper St. for 0.7 miles as it turns into Limestone. Continue on Limestone for 0.8 miles until the lighted intersection at Cooper Drive. Turn left onto Cooper Drive passing through the light at University Drive and turn right at the next light (Sportscenter Dr.). At the stop sign turn left onto College Way then finally turn left onto Wildcat Court into the Soccer/Softball Complex.
From the South
Follow I-75 North to exit 108 (Man O’ War Blvd). Turn left off of the ramp onto Man O’ War Blvd. Follow for 2.3 miles to the lighted intersection at Alumni Drive. Turn right onto Alumni. Follow Alumni 3.8 miles to the lighted intersection at Tates Creek Road. Continue through the light at Tates Creek and follow Alumni for 0.2 miles and take a right onto College Way. Turn right onto Wildcat Court in to the Soccer/Softball Complex.
