* 6:11 p.m.: UK has taken the field for warmups during a cold steady drizzle.

* 6:30 p.m.: UK starting lineup …

* 6:59 p.m.: UK is wearing all black kits for the second straight match, with black shorts and black tops. Marshall is wearing green shorts and white tops. The rain has stopped.


* 7:00 p.m.: In the first minute, UK’s Michael Strong breaks through the defense and attempts a cross to an open M asumi Turnbull but his cross sailed high into the net.

 

* 7:04 p.m.: Since UK last visited Sam Hood Field Marshall has improved its field, adding a new scoreboard – similar to the new one at the UK Soccer Complex – and added a new open-air press box.

 

* 7:10 p.m.: Off the first corner of the game, Marshall musters a header attempt that sailed high over the net. 


* 7:14 p.m.: In the 15th minute, Strong again had a look at the net, firing a shot that forced a diving save from the MU keeper.

 
* 7:17 p.m.: Masumi Turnbull set up for a free kick in the 18th minute and after dishing to Jason Griffiths, Marshall blocked his shot.

 

* 7:18 p.m.: Griffiths takes the first UK corner of the game and after a rugby-esque scrum, Marshall managed to clear the ball.

 

* 7:20 p.m.: GOAL KENTUCKY: Sam Vernalls takes advantage of an empty net in the 20th, booting the ball past the scrambling Thundering Herd defenders. The goal marked Vernalls second goal of the season.

 

* 7:22 p.m.: UK’s Dan Williams makes a prudent stop in the 26th minute off a Marshall counter attack, stepping to the edge of the six-yard box and making a physical diving stop.

 


* 7:24 p.m.: Jason Griffiths fires a long shot from 30 yards away that sails wide and high.

 

* 7:26 p.m.: Michael Strong is fouled on the very corner of the 18-yard box of Marshall, setting up a free kick taken by Griffiths. His cross into the box is cleared.

 

* 7:28 p.m.: Dan Williams saves a shot in the 29th minute.

 
* 7:29 p.m.: In an extra exciting play, Sam Vernalls and Michael Strong team up to break down the Marshall defense with Strong firing an hard open shot from about 15 yards out, that missed high.

 
* 7:31 p.m.: Tim Crone checks in for Sam Vernalls in the 30th minute.

 

* 7:34 p.m.: Barry Rice fires a lofted shot from about 20 yards away that forces a save by the MU keeper.

 

* 7:35 p.m.: Mark Lavery and Issam Sawtarie check in for Marco dos Santos and Michael Strong in the 35th minute.


* 7:40 p.m.: A UK foul forces a Marshall free kick in the 39th minute from the edge of the 18-yard box. MU’s No. 4 takes the bending kick that sails high and forces a leaping service from Williams, who appeared to get a late read on the shot due to the UK defensive wall.

* 7:43 p.m.: Griffiths fires a shot from 25 yards out that sails low and wide of the net in the 43rd.

* 7:46 p.m.: HALFTIME: UK leads 1-0 on a Sam Vernalls goal.

* 7:47 p.m.: UK has now not allowed a goal 269 consecutive minutes.  

* 8:01 p.m.: Second half underway … UK lineup … Walker, Williams, Turnbull, Burns, Griffiths, Strong, Vernalls, Rice, Muessig, dos Santos, Beiro.

 * 8:03 p.m.: GOAL KENTUCKY: In the 48th minute, Tyler Burns won the ball about midfield and fired a low-lining ball through the defense, enabling the speedy Strong to beat his defender to the ball. Strong beat the keeper to the ball in the box and lifted a arching shot over the defenders head and into the net.

* 8:04 p.m.: GOAL KENTUCKY: Strong followed that up just 20 seconds later, recording his seventh goal of the season, finding himself open in the box and booting a ball that sailed into the left corner of the net.

* 8:19 p.m.: UK escapes a Marshall corner unscathed … Williams saves a potential Marshall goal in the 57th minute.

* 8:23 p.m.: UK has controlled the entire momentum of the game, spending the majority of the contest playing the ball in Marshall terrority.


* 8:26 p.m.: Williams saves a bending shot around a wall of defenders off a Marshall free kick.

* 8:27 p.m.: Marco dos Santos fires a shot in the 70th minute that is saved by the MU keeper.

* 8:31 p.m.: dos Santos finds himself open in the box in the 73rd minute, but he mis fired on his shot wide.

* 8:32 p.m.: Strong is involved in a physical play in the box with the MU keeper. His header shot is high, but in the collision comes up hobbled. Tim Crone was waiting to check in for Strong before the play, so he comes in to replace the senior.

* 8:37 p.m.: Williams makes a save in the 80th minute.

* 8:40 p.m.: dos Santos fires a shot that forces a save and sets up a corner with 8 minutes remaining.

* 8:44 p.m.: C.J. Tappel checks in for Sam Vernalls.

* 8:46 p.m.: GOAL KENTUCKY: UK got penalty kick in the 88th minute, after Marco dos Santos was fouled in the box. UK midfielder Jason Griffiths fired the penalty kick for his third goal of the season, all on penalties. Griffiths fired a shot that beat the keeper into the back left of the net. On his career, Griffiths is a perfect 5-for-5 on penalties.
