WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The University of Kentucky’s No. 55 Megan Broderick continues singles action in the quarterfinals of the ITA Southeast Regional tournament on Sunday at the Wake Forest Indoor Tennis Center courts.

UK’s top singles player Broderick knocked out Clemson’s Federica van Adrichem in a three-set showdown. The Wildcat took the first set, 6-4, but dropped the second, 6-4, to the Tiger. Broderick came back to secure the win in the third set with a 6-4, decision.

The Tampa, Fla., native is set to play a familiar Southeastern Conference foe in Vanderbilt’s No. 40 Catherine Newman in the quarterfinals. Broderick has already faced the Commodore on the courts earlier in the fall season during the qualifying rounds of the ITA All-American Championship in Pacific Palisades, Calif. Newman earned the win in a three-set duel, 4-6, 6-4, 6-0.

In doubles action, Kentucky’s number one duo of senior Carolina Escamilla and junior Christine Johnston was toppled by ninth seeded Keri Wong and Ida Hadziselemovic of the Clemson Tigers in the quarterfinals, 8-5.

Main draw tournament times and opponents are tentative until the day before the match. Updated scoring and tournament information will be available at www.wakeforestsports.com.
