Senior Andy Winings (Brownsburg, Ind.) posted a team best three-over-par 75 to lead the Kentucky men’s golf team in the second round of the Isleworth Collegiate Invitational, on Monday at the Isleworth Golf & Country Club.

Kentucky dropped to 17th place overall after round two, with Georgia leading the elite field of teams, including 13 top-30 teams in the 18-team field. The fourth-ranked Bulldogs have carded a five-under par, while having the No. 1 individual, Russell Henley post a five-under par on Monday.

Winings, tied for 20th place, leads Kentucky after finishing one-under-par on the front nine, hitting birdies on the 558 yard par-five 13th and on the 477 yard par-four 18th before carding a four-over par on his back nine.

Senior Ben Fuqua (Danville, Ky.) finds himself tied for 32nd with a five-over par, leading the Wildcats this week with seven birdies through 36 holes.

Junior Alex Volpenhein (Edgewood, Ky.) found the 573 yard par-five seventh hole to his liking after finding the bottom of the cup for an eagle. In Volpenhein’s second start of the 2008-09 season, he is tied for 80th with a 12-over par.

Rounding out the scoring for Kentucky is junior Jordan Blann and freshman Mads Kristensen with a 13-over par tie for 82nd and an 18-over par for 89th place, respectively.

Kentucky returns to the 7,544 yard, par 72, Isleworth Golf & Country Club for the final 18 holes tomorrow at 8 a.m. ET.
