UK Hoops Recruit Leads New York State in Scoring

Lexington, KY – Kentucky women’s basketball signee Porsha Postell (pronounced post-ELL), a 5-10 guard from Woodlands High School in White Plains, N.Y., has been putting up impressive numbers during her senior campaign as she averages a near triple-double with 30.0 points, 10.0 rebounds and 7.0 assists per game. Her 30.0 points per game leads the state of New York.
Postell, rated one of the nation’s top 65 players by the All-Star Girls Report, is set to guide Woodlands High School to the county playoffs this weekend with a 16-4 overall record. In the last four games, she has posted incredible numbers of 36, 37, 38, and 41 points, respectively. In two of those games she recorded a triple-double (38 points, 12 rebounds and 11 steals and 36 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists) and overall has accounted for over 75 percent of her team’s points. She has already been named first team All-Section and Most Valuable Player of her league for the second consecutive season, and was tabbed one of the top players in New York by ESPN RISE Magazine.
The four-year starter has 1,777 career points and is on track to eclipse 2,000 points in her prep career. She also led the state of New York in scoring last season, averaging an impressive 28.7 points per game.
Postell chose Kentucky over South Carolina, Seton Hall, St. John’s, and West Virginia.
