LEXINGTON, Ky. — Senior Jenn’e Jackson (Radcliff, Ky.) of the Kentucky women’s basketball team is set to participate in commencement exercises Saturday, May 9 in Rupp Arena.

Jackson, a 6-1 forward, graduates with a bachelor of arts in psychology and plans to pursue a career in social work. On the hardwood, she concluded her Wildcat career charting 155 points, 105 rebounds and 58 blocks while playing in 88 games with four starting assignments.

“It’s an unreal feeling to me right now,” Jackson said. “I can’t believe college life is over but I’m so excited to receive my degree. There have been a lot of ups and downs, but I’ve made it! I would like to thank my parents for helping me get to where I am today and Jon Ross our team’s academic counselor for guiding me these last four years. I would also like to thank my coaches for pushing me through the hard times and helping me achieve this goal.”

In the last six seasons, all 17 of the UK Hoops players completing their eligibility also left with their degree. Last year, five members of the UK Hoops team graduated, including two (Carly Ormerod and Eleia Roddy) who received their degree an entire year early.

“We’re so proud that Jenn’e has put herself in position to graduate,” UK Hoops Coach Matthew Mitchell said. “That is the ultimate goal for every player that comes through our program at Kentucky. Graduation weekend is very special to us and it never gets old. I also want to thank the counselors in CATS (Center for Academic and Tutorial Services), especially Jon Ross. They are behind the scenes everyday helping our student-athletes reach their goal of graduating.”
