LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky football team had its final practice of the open date week Thursday morning, capped by a “young guys” scrimmage.

“It’s a little bit of a mish-mash because some of the guys don’t know the plays quite as well as others,” Coach Rich Brooks said. “I would say the defense kind of gained the upper hand today, but there were some good things and they’ll learn from it as we look at it on tape and coach ‘em up. I think the work they get this week and got today will help them be a bigger factor when called upon as we go through the season.”

The Wildcats will have Friday and Saturday off before returning to the practice field on Sunday. It’s no time off for the coaches, however, as they have hit the road for a recruiting weekend.
