LEXINGTON, Ky. — The Kentucky men’s soccer team travels to face South Carolina in a Conference USA matchup, slated for 7 p.m. ET Saturday at Stone Stadium.
Kentucky (8-5-0, 1-3-0 C-USA) will be looking for its second consecutive win in conference action, edging Memphis last weekend. UK suffered a 1-0 loss to No. 7 Louisville Wednesday night in the River City, its first ever loss to the Cardinals in Louisville.
UK has been led offensively by freshman midfielder Matt Lodge, who has five goals and one assist in 11 games. Tyler Burns has added three goals and one assist, while Marco dos Santos and C.J. Tappel lead the team with three assists. In goal, Dan Williams has totaled a 0.91 goals-against average, allowing only 12 goals in 13 games, saving 33 shots and totaling three shutouts.
South Carolina (7-3-2, 2-0-1 C-USA) is coming off a double-overtime win over SMU Wednesday night. The Gamecocks have been led offensively by Sam Arthur, who has eight goals and two assists in 12 games. Jeff Scannella, Danny Cates and Mike Lindsay have all contributed a team-leading two assists. In goal, Jimmy Maurer has allowed 13 goals in 12 games, good for a 1.03 goals-against average.
