LEXINGTON, Ky. — The Kentucky baseball home opener, scheduled for Wednesday against Murray State has been postponed and rescheduled for March 15 at 4 p.m. ET, UK head coach Gary Henderson announced Tuesday morning.

Kentucky (3-0) will face the `Breds on March 15 at 4 p.m. ET instead of the originally scheduled Wednesday home opener. With the weather forecast calling for inclement weather Wednesday in the central Kentucky area, the game has been pushed back.

The Wildcats opened the season in impressive fashion last weekend, posting wins over Virginia Tech, West Virginia and No. 12 Coastal Carolina, sweeping the Caravelle Resort Invitational in Conway, S.C. UK pounded VT 15-6 in the season opener, notched a 6-0 shutout win Saturday with freshmen Taylor Rogers and Jordan Cooper on the bump and secured a 3-2 ninth-inning win Sunday over the Chanticleers.

UK will now return to action with a three-game series against Bowling Green State, at Cliff Hagan Stadium. First pitch Friday night is slated for 4 p.m. ET and the game will be broadcast live on the Big Blue Sports Network (radio).
