LEXINGTON, Ky. — Kentucky softball All-American shortstop Molly Johnson will be on hand Friday to throw out the ceremonial first pitch for the series opening game with UK baseball and No. 24 Alabama. First pitch Friday at Cliff Hagan Stadium is slated for 6:30 p.m. ET.

Johnson, an All-American middle infielder has paced the UK softball team throughout her four years in Lexington. In 2010, Johnson has batted .375 (39-for-104) with team-highs in runs scored (27), doubles (six), triples (three), home runs (10) and stolen bases (12-for-14). In her four-year career, Johnson has hit for a .391 (234-or-598) average, with 140 runs, 51 doubles, 10 triples, 32 homers and 128 RBI, swiping 58 stolen bases. Johnson has recently been selected as one of 10 finalists for the Lowes Senior Class Award, an award that honors four areas of excellence – community, classroom, character and competition.

The games will also be broadcast live on BBSN (radio), with the Voice of UK Baseball, Neil Price, voicing the contest. Fans in Lexington can hear the game live on WLAP 630-AM and in Louisville on WKJK 1080-AM.
