LEXINGTON, Ky. – Senior guard Carly Morrow was selected to the District 4 Capital One Academic All-District Team by the College Sports Information Directors of America it was announced Thursday.
The Lookout Mountain, Ga., native was named to the Academic All-District Third Team. This is her first CoSIDA/Capital One Academic All-District honor.
Nominees for the All-District teams had to be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 on a scale of 3.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing at her current institution and be nominated by her sports information director.
The District 4 team is made up of student-athletes from Division I schools in the states of Alabama, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio and Tennessee.
Morrow has started in 15 of 21 games played this season, including seven in a row. She is averaging 2.2 points and 1.0 rebounds per game and has hit 10 three-pointers in helping the Wildcats mount an 18-4 overall record, including 7-2 mark in Southeastern Conference play. She currently sits at No. 7 on UK’s career chart for three-pointers made with 108.
Morrow maintains a 3.76 grade point average and is set to graduate in May with a degree in business economics.
No. 16/18 Kentucky returns to action Monday, Feb. 7 vs. No. 5/4 Tennessee in Memorial Coliseum. The game will be televised on ESPN2 at 9 p.m. EST as part of its “Big Monday” package.
