LEXINGTON, Ky. – The 16/18th-ranked Kentucky women’s basketball team puts its seven-game winning streak on the line in an ESPN2 “Big Monday” showdown against undefeated and No. 5/4 Tennessee. Game time in Memorial Coliseum is 9 p.m. EST. Dave O’Brien will handle play-by-play duties for ESPN2 while Doris Burke is the color analyst. The game also will be broadcast live on the Big Blue Sports Radio Network with Neil Price.

Single-game tickets are on sale now. Single-game reserved seats are $7 (regardless of age) while general admission tickets are $7 for adults and $4 for youth/seniors. UK students, faculty and staff are admitted free with valid identification. To purchase tickets, visit the Joe Craft Center in person, call 1-800-928-2287 or go online at UKathletics.com.

Monday’s matchup will showcase two of the Southeastern Conference’s top teams as Tennessee leads the league with an unblemished 9-0 record. The Cats are currently in a tie for second place with Georgia at 7-2.

“Monday’s game vs. Tennessee obviously is a big game,” UK Hoops Coach Matthew Mitchell said. “I was really proud of the effort the players gave vs. Auburn. They played really hard and that is getting closer to what we are trying to be on the defensive end. That was a good night and we are going to see if we can get prepared for a really good Tennessee team.”

The Wildcats are coming off a 69-38 win over the Auburn Tigers on Thursday. The 31-point win marked the largest margin of victory in SEC play in school history. It also marked the first time UK has held an SEC opponent under 40 points in school history.

Senior Victoria Dunlap (Nashville, Tenn.) collected her sixth double-double of the season, recording 10 points and 10 rebounds. With the 10 rebounds, she eclipsed the 1,000-rebound mark and joined former Wildcat great Valerie Still as the only players in school history to chart over 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds in a career. Sophomore Brittany Henderson (Pasadena, Calif.) also had a career night vs. the Tigers, scoring a career-best 13 points while adding seven rebounds.

The Cats, known for their defensive prowess, rank in the top five of nine SEC statistical categories, including leading the SEC and ranking fourth nationally in turnover margin (+8.0) and leading the league and ranking 28th nationally in steals per game (11.8).

Dunlap is the SEC’s leader in scoring (17.4 ppg), steals (3.3 spg) and field goal percentage (.482). Also averaging in double-figure scoring this season is sophomore guard A’dia Mathies and junior guard Keyla Snowden with 13.1 and 10.8 points per game, respectively. Snowden leads the SEC and ranks fourth nationally in 3-point field goal percentage, shooting 47.1 percent (48-of-102) from behind the arc.

The Lady Vols are coming off a bye week. They defeated Arkansas in their last game on Jan. 30, 72-53.

Four players average in double-digit scoring this season for UT led by freshman guard Meighan Simmons’ 14.8 points per game. Junior Shekinna Stricklen, senior Angie Bjorklund and junior Glory Johnson follow close behind with each averaging around 11.0 points per game. Johnson in the team’s leading rebounder with 9.6 rpg.

This is the Lady Vols’ 37th season under head coach Pat Summitt. She has compiled a staggering 1,058-198 overall record.

Monday will mark the 54th meeting between the border rivals, the 26th in Lexington. UK has met UT more times than any other UK rival. The Lady Vols lead the overall record 46-7, including a 20-5 advantage in Lexington. However, UK has won two of the last three meetings against UT in Lexington, including the last matchup in Memorial Coliseum in 2009 (66-56).

UK’s last win over a top-10 team in Memorial Coliseum was Jan. 6, 2000 vs. No. 5 Auburn (71-69).

UK Athletics encourages fans to arrive early to ease traffic and parking congestion around the Coliseum. Doors will open one hour prior to the game (8 p.m.) Monday night.
