LEXINGTON, Ky.  
– The University of Kentucky track and field team closed out day two of the 67th Florida Relays, claiming top-10 finishes in three of its relay events, Saturday in Gainesville, Fla.

 

The top finish of the day came from the women’s 4,000-meter distance medley relay team, who finished third overall in the event with a time of 11:54.32. Another medley relay on the women’s side, the sprint medley relay, finished fourth with a time of 3:53.28.

 

The men’s 4x800m relay squad finished fifth with a time of 7:32.95 and the women’s 4x200m relay team finished ninth in 1:36.54 to round out Kentucky’s top-10 relay finishers.

 

The men’s and women’s 4x400m relay teams finished 11th and 15th respectively with times of 3:11.50 and 3:40.80.

 

Two Wildcat throwers were also in action on Saturday with freshman Isiah Kent finishing 10th in the men’s discus with a long throw of 47.87m/157-01. For the women, senior Mary Angell finished 11th with a toss of 14.98m/49-01.75.

 

The Kentucky track and field team will be back in action Saturday, April 9 in the Kentuckiana Border Battle, where the Cats and the Cards team up to take on the Hoosiers and the Boilermakers in a unique dual meet.
