LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky women’s soccer team and the UK Soccer Complex will have a new playing surface when players report for pre-season in August.

The UK Soccer Complex has been widely considered one of the top playing surfaces in the nation over the last few years, under the direction of Sports Turf managers Marcus Dean and Eric Haub.

“We are excited by the continuing support, by the UK Athletic Department, for the women’s soccer program,” UK women’s soccer head coach Jon Lipsitz said. “Having a premier grass surface is critical to our style of play within the SEC and beyond. “

The field will also include a new baseline irrigation system that will have motion sensors in the field which will allow the Sports Turf department the ability to monitor soil moisture levels and reduce overwatering.
