LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Kentucky women’s tennis team has traveled to Charleston, S.C. for the College of Charleston Halloween Invitational this weekend. After two days of play, Kentucky finds themselves in a good position. The team has had some battles and come out on top, mainly in singles play.

Some of the highlights of Friday’s play include Misha Testerman’s victory over Diana Navrostska of East Tennessee State University. The two pushed each other to the max, requiring that extra points be played. In the end, Testerman was able to grab the win, with a final score of 7-5, 7-5.

Sophomore Khristina Blajkevitch, freshman Edmee Morin and Stephanie Fox also brought home the wins for Kentucky on Friday. The three breezed through their matches, winning in straight sets. Morin had an especially astounding score of 6-0, 6-1, against Karina Kedzo of ETSU.

Sophomore CeCe Witten has had a successful weekend thus far for the Wildcats. She partnered up with Morin on Friday to defead Giovanna Portioli and Sandra Herrera of Winthrop, 8-5. Saturday, she switched up her team, pairing up with Fox to toake on Caroline Newman and Grace Baker from the host school, C of C. The duo was dominate, winning the match with a score of 8-4. Witten then went on to win her singles match 6-4, 6-0.

The Wildcats as a whole did well in singles play on Saturday. One of the strongest performances came from Blacjkevitch. She played an extremely close match against Jenny Falcone of C of C, but she ultimately took the victory with a score of 7-6(1), 6-3. 

The Wildcats enter into their final day of play today and hope to continue their success in their final fall tournament.
