Kentucky improves to 2-0 on the season, while Kansas drops to 1-1.
The Wildcats are 20-6 all-time against Kansas and 6-1 in the series at neutral sites.
Kentucky is now 11-3 all-time in Madison Square Garden and 42-16 in the New York metro area.
The Wildcats have won seven of their last eight and 10 of the last 12 games against ranked opponents.
UK head coach John Calipari collected his first win over Kansas and the Wildcats defeated the Jayhawks for the first time since the 1999 season.
UK continues its modest three-game road stretch on Saturday in Uncasville, Conn. taking on Penn State in the Hall of Fame Tip-off Tournament.

The NY/NJ combo of Doron Lamb and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist had a successful homecoming tallied 29 points, 13 rebounds and dished out five assists.
