Bailey Vick Wins SEC Freshman of the Week for Second Week Running

LEXINGTON, Ky. – For the second week running, Kentucky softball freshman Bailey Vick was named the Southeastern Conference’s Freshman of the Week.
Vick hit .438 this past week with seven hits and two RBI. On Sunday afternoon vs. No. 5/4 Texas A&M, she scored two runs in the same game for just the third time this season and had the go-ahead RBI single to put Kentucky on top to help clinch the series win.
Vick had a hit in three of the five games Kentucky played last week, including her team-leading ninth double of the year in UK’s win at Eastern Kentucky on Tuesday.
Overall, Vick is hitting .349 on the season and co-leads the team in batting average with Katie Reed. The Wildcats are back in action on Friday night at 7:30 p.m. ET live on the SEC Network as part of Bases Loaded – where ESPN will whiparound to the most exciting games around the league all night.
