LEXINGTON, Ky. – Raymond Dykstra and Keilah Tyson are making themselves quite familiar with the Kentucky track and field record books. After Friday’s competition at the 85th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays, the duo has now set five Kentucky freshman records.

Dykstra, who set the UK freshman record in the men’s javelin two weeks ago, shattered the mark again Friday with a program-best mark of 75.41m/247-05. Dykstra’s throw shattered the previous school record mark of 226-08, which he set two weeks ago at the Bulls Invitational.

Tyson etched her name in the Kentucky freshman record book for the third time this year, recording the fastest 100-meter dash by a freshman in Wildcats’ history with a time of 11.52. Tyson’s 10th-place finish missed out on the finals of the event by 0.06 seconds. The time is the third fastest in Kentucky history. The Norfolk, Va., native also recorded the fastest UK freshman times ever in the 60m dash and 200m dash during the indoor season.

Freshman Joanne Imbert finished in a tie for ninth in the women’s high jump, recording a mark of 1.70m/5-07.00. In the men’s triple jump, freshman Terence Boyd finished 13th with a mark of 14.22m/46-08.00.

Also competing in the 100m dash was freshman Tamyah Pipkin, who finished 34th with a time of 11.83.

In the women’s 100m hurdles, sophomore Kayla Parker finished 38th with a time of 14.20. Junior Brandon Bagley ran a 14.66 in the prelims of the men’s 110m hurdles.

Kentucky had three relays compete Friday, including the 4x100m relay, 4x400m relay and 1,600-sprint medley. The Wildcats, led by Pipkin, Tyson, Shiara Robinson and Kayla Parker, finished 20th with a time of 46.70. The 4x400m relay team of Julie Nunn, Angelica Whaley, Devinn Cartwright and Robinson finished 21st with a time of 3:43.26. Parker, Nunn, Whaley and Robinson made up Kentucky’s 11th-place 1,600-sprint medley team. The quartet finished with a time of 4:00.33.

The Texas Relays will conclude Saturday. Competing in the running events on the final day will be sophomore Allison Peare and senior Josh Nadzam. Peare will race in the women’s 1,500m, while Nadzam will compete in the men’s one-mile run.

In the field events, senior Terri-Ann Grant will compete in the women’s high jump, senior Jennifer Svoboda will compete in the women’s shot put, and sophomore Andrew Evans will go in the men’s discus throw.
