LEXINGTON, Ky. – After scoring the golden goal in the 93rd minute of overtime on Friday night to lift the University of Kentucky women’s soccer team (14-6-1, 8-5-1 SEC) to its first-ever NCAA Tournament win, freshman Kelli Hubly was named as one of the CollegeSoccer360.com ‘Primetime Performers’ for the week, it was announced Thursday.

Hubly scored her sixth goal of the season Friday night, launching a shot past the UT Martin keeper, punching Kentucky’s ticket into the second round of the NCAA Tournament. The Elk Grove, Ill., native now leads all UK freshmen with six goals and three assists, combining on the year for 15 points.

The goal was scored off a dynamic run when Hubly found space, stretching the field to the near side after receiving a pass from sophomore Arin Gilliland. Hubly got the ball to her outside foot about 15 yards from goal before shaking a defender and rifling the game-winning goal past the UTM keeper for the game winner.

Hubly is the third UK player to achieve ‘Primetime Performer’ status, as she joins Kayla King, who was honored with the national award on Oct. 22 and Arin Gilliland a week later.

Kentucky travels to San Diego, Calif., this weekend for the second and third rounds of the 2012 NCAA Women’s Soccer Championship, as UK will face off against the No. 5/6 UCLA Bruins (16-2-2, 8-2-1 PAC-12) in a 7:30 p.m. ET kick-off from the Sports Deck in San Diego. The San Diego State Aztecs will host the event.
