LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky (14-8, 7-3 SEC) men’s tennis team will wrap up regular season play at No. 21 Tennessee and No. 25 Georgia this weekend. UK will face UT on Friday at 6 p.m. and UGA on Sunday at 1 p.m.

Last weekend, Kentucky went 1-1, picking up a win over No. 23 Vanderbilt, 4-1. UK earned every point in singles play during the win. The Wildcats faced No. 3 Ohio State earlier in the week during a rare midweek nonconference match and lost, 4-2.

In the latest Oracle ITA singles rankings, two Wildcats made an appearance in the top-125. Ryo Matsumura shot up to No. 9 in the nation for a week that won him Co-SEC Player of the Week. Matsumura took down No. 3 Mikael Torpeggard and No. 25 Cameron Kinger, and has two wins over the No. 3 ranked player this season. Matsumura is 16-2 this season and has just one SEC loss.

Will Bushamuka moved up one spot to No. 53 in the country. Bushamuka is 8-6 this season and 4-5 against nationally ranked opponents.

Tennessee is 18-6 and 7-3 in conference play this season. Last weekend, UT lost to Mississippi State, 4-2 but took down Alabama, 5-2. Timo Stodder is the Vols’ best ranked player at No. 22, while Adam Walton is also ranked at No. 112. Stodder is 15-5 in the spring season and has spent the entire year on the top court.
