LEXINGTON, Ky. – As the Kentucky football team prepares for spring practice, UK Athletics announced the promotional schedule for the Wildcats’ 2018 home games in Kroger Field on Monday.

The 2018 season will kick off on Sept. 1 as the Wildcats host Central Michigan. In addition to serving as UK’s season opener, the game will also be the annual Band Day event as UK hosts high school bands from across the Bluegrass.

When the Cats return to Kroger Field on Sept. 15 to face Murray State, it will be Heroes’ Day at Kroger Field. The annual Heroes’ Day event honors all active and reserve members of the armed forces along with police, firefighters and first responders. Ticket information for Heroes’ Day will be announced in the weeks leading up to the game. Dance Day will coincide with Heroes’ Day, bringing local dance teams from around Kentucky to Kroger Field.

Hall of Fame Weekend will follow as UK hosts Southeastern Conference West rival Mississippi State on Sept. 22. The new class of Hall of Famers, which has not yet been announced, will be recognized on the field during the game. Additionally, Kentucky football will participate in Extra Yard for Teachers Week for the Mississippi State game by holding Teacher Appreciation Day.

The last Saturday of a three-week homestand for UK will be a busy one, with Ag Roundup and Family Weekend coming as the Cats host South Carolina on Sept. 29.

UK’s Homecoming game will be on Oct. 20 when the Cats host Vanderbilt.

When Georgia, coming off a runner-up finish in the College Football Playoff, comes to Lexington on Nov. 3, UK will honor veterans with its second annual Salute to Veterans.

Senior Day for the Wildcats will be on Nov. 17 as UK hosts Middle Tennessee State and honors players suiting up for the final time in Kroger Field in its home finale. The game will also mark Youth Football Day, as special ticket offers will be extended to youth football league participants and their parents. A select few youth football teams will also play on the field during the halftime break.

Game times for UK’s 2018 schedule will be announced later.

UK is coming off a second consecutive bowl appearance after playing in the Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl in December. The Cats will return 10 of 11 defensive starters and All-SEC running back Benny Snell, as well as welcoming another highly touted recruiting class.

Season tickets for the 2018 season are on sale now at UKFootballTix.com, both for renewing season ticket holders and those purchasing new season tickets. Single-game tickets and other ticket packages will go on sale later this spring and summer.
