Sutjiadi Named to CoSIDA Academic All-America At-Large Second Team

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky senior Aldila Sutjiadi has been named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-America At-Large Second Team, the organization announced on Thursday.
After being named to the third team in her junior campaign, Sutjiadi moved up to the second team this year becoming the first Wildcat to ever earn Academic All-America honors in multiple seasons. She also is only the second player in program history to be named to the second team after Lene Holm Larsen did so in 1990.
The Jakarta, Indonesia, native wrapped up her academic career with an impressive 3.920 GPA, graduating in May with a degree in mathematical economics. Sutjiadi was named this season’s Southeastern Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year and was the third-runner up for the 2017 Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar of the Year award.
Sutjiadi recently completed her collegiate career at the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships, representing the Wildcats in both fields. She earned a final individual ranking of No. 25, the highest final ranking of her career, and was named to the All-SEC Second Team after leading the team in ranked singles wins.
The senior also made up half of Kentucky’s top duo with Mami Adachi, which closed the season with a No. 4 overall ranking after advancing to the Elite Eight to ensure All-America honors for the second consecutive year. The pair became the first Kentucky duo to garner the distinction in back-to-back seasons since Carolina Mayorga and Sarah Witten accomplished the feat in 2001 and 2002.
