INDIAN WELLS, Calif.– Will Bushamuka and Ryo Matsumura of the Kentucky men’s tennis team will compete in the 2017 Oracle ITA National Fall Championships. The tournament will be held November 1-5 at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden and other resort locations.

Both Bushamuka and Matsumura qualified as at-large selections. The Oracle ITA National Fall Championships will feature a 64-player singles draw, while doubles consist of a 32-team draw. Players qualified for the tournament through designated placings at earlier ITA National Championships and the ITA Regional Championships Presented by Oracle, as well as at-large selections. The Oracle ITA National Fall Championships is the only intercollegiate event to feature competitors from all five divisions competing for a single national championship.

Bushamuka will be the first Wildcat to see the court and will face No. 16 seeded Thomas Laurent of Oregon at 3:15 ET. Laurent earned his way into the tournament after making the quarterfinals of the Saint Francis Health System ITA Men’s All-American Championships. The winner will face either jack Molloy of California or Harrison Scott of Texas.

Matsumura will compete at 3:45 p.m. ET. He will take on Ferran Calvo of Oklahoma. Calvo made his way into the tournament as an at-large selection. The winner will face either Johannes Ingildsen of Florida or Alex Lebedev of Notre Dame on Thursday at a time to be determined.
